What the Field Knows Before the Dashboard
Sales teams, doctors and pharmacists often notice a change before it appears in a report.
A dashboard shows numbers from the past. People in the field often notice change while it is happening. A medical representative may hear the same question from several doctors. A pharmacist may notice that customers are asking for a different option. One comment may look small, but repeated comments can be an early sign of something important.
For example, a sales report may still look normal while doctors are beginning to prefer a different treatment. If the field team shares this early, the company can ask more questions, check the data and respond sooner.
This does not mean we should choose between field feedback and data. We need both. Field conversations tell us where to look, and data helps us confirm what is really happening. Leaders should listen, check and then share the action taken with the team.
Simple takeaway: numbers show the result, but people close to the market often explain the reason.
